Aminata Sow Fall

Biography

Aminata Sow Fall was born in Saint Louis, Senegal in 1941. After school in Senegal, she went to France where she took a degree in modern literature. After getting married in France, the couple returned to Senegal, where Sow Fall became a teacher. After the success of La Grève des bàttu (The Beggars’ Strike), she worked for the Ministry of Culture. Her son is the rapper Abass Abass.
