Anak Agung Pandji Tisna

Biography

Anak Agung Pandji Tisna was born in Buleleng, Bali, in 1908. He was the 11th descendant of the Padji Sakti dynasty of Buleleng, succeeding his father in 1944. He became the leader of the Council of Kings of all of Bali. He later surrendered his throne to his younger brother as his Christian faith did not fit in with the Balinese Hindu beliefs. He worked at various jobs, including headmaster, farmer, editor and merchant. He published stories, poems and novels. He died in 1978.
