Risa Wataya

Biography

Risa Wataya was born in Kyoto in 1984. She graduated from Waseda University. She wrote her first story when in high school, winning the Bungei Prize, the youngest recipient of that prize. She later became the youngest person to win the Akutagawa Prize. She is also the youngest person to win the Kenzaburo Oe Prize. She has written several novels and stories.
