Kamila Shamsie

Biography

Kamila Shamsie was born in Karachi in 1973. Her mother was Muneeza Shamsie, a well-known literary journalist. She moved to New York and took a B.A. in creative writing from Hamilton College and then took a Master’s in Fine Arts from the University of Massachusetts, when she published her first novel. She has since written four other novels. She was named as one of Granta’s Best Young British Novelists.
