Ali Smith

Biography

Ali Smith was born in Inverness in 1962. She grew up in a working-class family. She studied at Aberdeen University and the University of Cambridge, where she started but did not finish a Ph. D. She worked as a lecturer at the University of Strathclyde, before becoming a full-time writer. She has written novels, stories, several plays (unpublished) and non-fiction.
