The New Puritans
A bunch of English writers, who published both a manifesto and an anthology of short stories and called for a return to story telling, doing away with authorial asides, cutesiness, fancy rhetorical devices, flashbacks and the like. The manifesto was based on the manifesto of Dogme 95, a group of Danish film-makers. I suspect that this group will splinter and some of the authors will make a living, others will fade and the movement will remain a historical anomaly. But I could be wrong.
