Michael Ferrier

Biography

Michael Ferrier was born in 1967 in Strasbourg. His grandmother was Indian and his grandfather Mauritian. He grew up in Africa and the Indian Ocean area. He studied at the École normale supérieure de Fontenay-aux-Roses, getting a doctorate in literature.He is currently Professor at Chuo University, Tokyo. He has written novels, stories and essays, set in various parts of the world. He has written extensively on the Fukushima disaster. Three of his books have been translated into English.
