Germano Almeida
Biography
Germano Almeida was born on the Cape Verdean island of Boa Vista in 1945. He served in the army in Angola in 1965 and then studied law at the University of Lisbon. He became involved in politics and became a member of parliament and then Attorney General for the country. He founded a literary review and also the publisher Ilhéu Editora. He went on to publish many well-received novels and stories, one of which has been translated into English.
