Biography

Vlady Kociancich was born in 1941 in Buenos Aires. her name was L Cociancich like her late aunt, she was nicknamed Vladimira Kociancich in high school.She studied Literature at the University of Buenos Aires , where she met Jorge Luis Borges, with whom he became friends. Between 1972 and 1979she edited a magazine specialising in tourism.

In 1978 a film directed by Ricardo Wullicher called Borges for Millions was released , in which she appeared, in addition to xontributing to the script.

In 1994 she directed a course on the work of Adolfo Bioy Casares , with whom she was also a friend, at the Complutense University of Madrid , Spain.

She was interested in writing from an early age and wrote her first novel, a detective novel, when she was ten which she tried, unsuccessfully, to sell. She has written novels and short stories. Two of her novels have been translated into English. She died in 2022.
