Antoine Abel
Biography
Antoine Abel was born in 1934 in Anse Boileau on Mahé Island. His family were peasants, descended from African slaves. He studied to be a teacher and spent most of his career teaching at the Seychelles Teacher Training College. He wrote poetry and fiction and was known as the Father of Seychelles Literature. He died in 2004.
