Biography

John Hearne was born in 1926 in Montreal to Jamaican parents. They returned to Jamaica when he was two. When he was seventeen, during World War II, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was an adviser to Michael Manley and later wrote extensively for the Jamaican press.
