Martín Caparrós

Biography

Martín Caparrós was born in Buenos Aires in 1957. His father was a psychiatrist. He graduated from the Colegio Nacional de Buenos Aires, a high school, and started work in 1973 as a journalist for Noticias, which was closed the following year. After the military coup, he went into exile, first to Paris, where he took a degree in history at the University of Paris, and then to Madrid. In Madrid he started writing fiction, did translations, and wrote for El País and various French publications

After democracy returned to Argentina, he went back to Buenos Aires and worked for Tiempo Argentino and for the radio. He continued a career in journalism, radio and television. He has written many novels as well as non-fiction works.
