Hala Alyan

Biography

Hala Alyan was born in1986 in Carbondale, Illinois. Her Palestinian family lived in Kuwait after her birth but sought political asylum in the United States when Iraqi forces invaded the country.She took a doctorate in clinical psychology at Rutgers University and works part-time at New York University in the Counselling and Wellness Center. She has written two novels as well as collections of poetry.
