Sultan Raev
Biography
Sultan Raev was born in 1958 in the Kara-Suu District of Kyrgyzstan. He studied journalism at the
1979-1984 Kyrgyz State University, Faculty of Journalism. He worked in journalism, becoming Head of Literature and Art Department of the
“Leninchil Jashnewspaper and eputy of Editor-in-chief of Asaba newspaper.He was later named Deputy Minister of Education and Culture of, Chairman of State Commission on Culture Development and later Minister of Culture. Hw has since been elected Secretary-General of TURKSOY International Organization of Turkic Culture. He has written novels and plays and directed plays. One of his novels has bfen translated into English.
