Dong Xi
Biography
Dong Xi was born Tian Dailin in Guli in northwest Guangxi. in 1966. His family suffered in the Cultural Revolution but he was later able to attend Hechi Normal College, where he started writing, submitting work to various magazines. He eventually had some success, publishing stories in major magazines. He taught Chinese at Tian’e College. He subsequently wrote novels. Some of his work was adapted to TV and film and he moved to Beijing to work with the scriptwriters. He is currently resident writer at Guangxi University for Nationalities, and the chairman of the Guangxi Writers Association.
