Hiroko Oyamada was born in Hiroshima in 1983. She graduated from the Japanese Literature Language Course , Faculty of Letters, Hiroshima University. After graduation she changed jobs three times in five years, an experience that inspired her debut story 工場 (Factory). She has written several stories and essays.
