Ta-wei Chi

Biography

Ta-wei Chi (aka Chi Ta-wei and Dawei Ji) was born in Taichung County in 1972. He has a master’s degree in Foreign Language and Literature from the National Taiwan University and a doctoral degree in Comparative Literature from UCLA. He is currently an associate professor at the Graduate Institute of Taiwanese Literature of the National Chengchi University. He has promoted gay literature in a country where, till recently, the subject was considered taboo. His first book was 感官世界 = Queer Senses: A Story Cycle of Sexualities stories whose theme was homosexuality. His subsequent work has also dealt with the topic of homosexuality.
