Kai Aareleid

Biography

Kai Aareleid was born in 1972 in Tartu. She studied stagecraft at the Theatre Academy Helsinki and was a fiction translator-editor at Tallinn University. She has translated works by David Mamet, Bruce Chatwin, Carlos Ruiz Zafón, Javier Marías, Jorge Luis Borges and Isabel Allende. She has written novels, poetry and plays. One of her novels has been translated into English.
