Maria Matios
Biography
Maria Matios was born in 1959 in Roztoky. In 1982. She graduated from the Faculty of Philology of the Chernivtsi State University, Department of Ukrainian Language and Literature. She worked as a librarian at the university libraryfor eight years. She has also held various official posts, including as a member of parliament. Her first poems were published when she was fifteen. She has published poetry, stories, novels and a cookery book. Her brother was chief military prosecutor of Ukraine.
