Biography

Taras Prokhasko was born in 1968 in Ivano-Frankivsk. Prokhaszka’s maternal grandfather served during the First World War in an Austro-Hungarian division, which stood on the front opposite the unit described by Ernest Hemingway in A Farewell to Arms. He studied botany at Lviv University. He was involved in the demonstrations in Lviv in 1989-1991.After graduating from the university, he first worked at the Ivano-Frankivsk Institute of Carpathian Forestry and later he taught in his hometown, He also worked as a bartender , then a watchman, a presenter on FM radio,worked in an art gallery, on a newspaper and in a TV studio. He edited a literary journal and acted in films. He also travelled, including to the USA.

He decided to become a writer at an early age and published stories in magazines. He has published several books, but only one adult novel has been translated into English.
