Patrick Roegiers

Biography

Patrick Roegiers was born in Ixelles in 1947. Initially, he worked as a dramatist and theatre director, later becoming a literary and photography critic, after leaving Belgium for Paris when the subsidy for his theatre was cancelled. He has continued to direct plays and has also directed films for television as well as being active in photography. He has also curated many art and photography exhibitions. He has written numerous books on photography as well as novels and stories. In recent years, he has written on Belgium, in fiction, poetry and non-fiction. Sadly, apart from a catalogue of an exhibition on Magritte, his works have not been translated into English.
