John Lanchester

Biography

John Lanchester was born in Hamburg, Germany in 1962. He was brought up in Hong Kong but educated in England. He has worked as a journalist but also had a limited but deserved reputation as a novelist but suddenly became much better-known, first with his non-fiction book on the financial crisis at the end of the first decade of the 21st century, Whoops! Why Everyone Owes Everyone and No One Can Pay and then with Capital, a book which touches on the financial crisis.
