Biography
Jørgen-Frantz Jacobsen was born in Tórshavn in 1900. After finishing his secondary education he studied history and French in which he took a master’s degree. Unfortunately, he contracted tuberculosis in 1922. He worked as a journalist and a spokesman for the Faroese home rule movement. He wrote extensively about Danish/Faroese history and politics. In 1934, he started writing his only novel, Barbara (Barbara) which was published after his death from tuberculosis in 1938.
