Biography

Jean-Baptiste Andrea was born in 1971 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye. His mother and grandmother were Italian. He grew up in Cannes. He first took an interest in cinema at school. He studied at the Institut d’études politiques de Paris and then started scriptwriting films in English. He had success with the horror film Dead End made with Fabrice Canepa. He then turned to writing and has written four well-received novels, the latest winning the Prix Goncourt. Two of his novels have been translated into English.
