Jean-Luc Seigle

Biography

Jean-Luc Seigle was born in 1955 in le Puy de Dôme, near Clermont-Ferrand. He was brought up by his grandfather who, like Albert’s father in En vieillissant les hommes pleurent [Men Cry As They Get Older], fought in the First World War and later worked for Michelin. He has worked as a scriptwriter for both TV and cinema and written several plays for the theatre. He was relatively unknown as a novelist till the publication of En vieillissant les hommes pleurent [Men Cry As They Get Older], which received considerable critical acclaim and won a few prizes. He died in 2020.
