Ulrike Almut Sandig

Biography

Ulrike Almut Sandig was born in 1979 in Großenhain, Saxony, the former German Democratic Republic. Her father was a parson and a politician. She started her career as a a poet, giving public readings of her poetry. She studied journalism, religion and Indian studies but did not finish her studies but then studied at the German Literary Institute in Leipzig, where she took an M.A. She has written poetry, stories, audio books and one novel.
