Lisa McInerney was born in Galway in 1981. She wrote a blog called Arse End of Ireland about life on a Galway council estate, which was three times nominated for Irish blog of year and attracted a fair amount of attention. She has since written for various on-line publications and has since written several short stories. Her first novel, Glorious Heresies, won the 2016 Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction.
