José Luis de Vilallonga

Biography

José Luis de Vilallonga was born in Madrid in 1920. After the Spanish Civil War, he studied journalism in Barcelona before deciding he could no longer stay in Spain. He took a doctorate in international law and then went to Argentina to breed horses. He moved to Paris in 1953 and wrote most of his books there, writing in French. He only started writing in Spanish again in the late 1990s. He died in 2007.
