Mohammed Dib
Biography
He was born in Tlemcen in 1920 and became a teacher. He has worked as a rug designer, accountant, interpreter, artist and a journalist. He was expelled from Algeria in 1959 and went to live in France. Like other Algerians, he has travelled around the world, including spells in California and Finland. He is now considered Algeria’s greatest writer. He died in Paris in 2003.
