Zakhar Prilepin

Biography

Zakhar Prilepin was born in 1975 in Ilyinka, Ryazan, Western Russia. He studied at the Faculty of Philology of the Nizhny Novgorod State University and the School of Public Policy. He then did various jobs and fought in the Chechnya War. He then worked as a journalist and became a newspaper editor. However, he became tired of journalism and wrote a novel based on his experiences in Chechnya. He has continued to work as journalist while being involved in various dissident groups and writing novels and other works.
