William Melvin Kelley

Biography

William Melvin Kelley was born in New York in 1937. He attended the Fieldston School in Riverdale, New York and Harvard. He dropped out of Harvard, after his mother and father died in 1957 and 1958 respectively and became a writer. He has lived in various places in the USA and Europe. He has taught writing and literature in the USA and in Paris. He claimed to be working on an autobiographical novel which reached 10,000 pages. Sadly, his books have not had the acclaim they deserve. The titles of all of his books begin with D, which may or may not be significant. He died in 2017.
