Guzel Yakhina
Biography
Guzel Yakhina was born in Kazan in 1977. Her mother is a doctor and her father an engineer. Her first language was Tartar and she only learned Russian at daycare. She studied physics and mathematics at school and then went to art school, finally studying at the Department of Foreign Languages in the Tatar State University of Humanities and Education. She took an early interest in cinema and script-writing. She worked in public relations and advertising and published stories in magazines and then. moved to Moscow. In 2015, she graduated from the Moscow School of Film with a degree in screenwriting. She has published two novels.
